Biraja or Viraja at Jajpur

Jajpur district identifies Biraja Temple, also called Viraja Kshetra, as a religious site in Odisha. The two spellings refer readers towards the same local tradition; a state-level reference to Odisha alone is too broad to locate it.

Jajpur's cultural landscape also includes other temples and Buddhist archaeological sites. Their proximity does not make them part of the Biraja temple or evidence for its Peetha association. Read each monument's history separately when planning a wider visit.
