The Infinite Pillars of Cosmic Light

The 12 Sacred Jyotirlingas

When Brahma and Vishnu contested their supremacy, Lord Shiva pierced through all realms as a boundless, fiery column of cosmic illumination (Jyotirlinga). The 12 sacred spots where this infinite light touched the earth are revered as the supreme tirthas of Mahadeva.
