Kamakhya and the annual Ambubachi observance
Kamakhya stands on Nilachal Hill in Guwahati. Assam Tourism relates the shrine to the Ambubachi observance and its distinctive Goddess tradition. This context is more useful than describing Kamakhya as simply another temple with an identical Sati story.
The observance affects access to worship, so a past year's festival schedule should not be reused as a current timetable. Treat the ritual narrative respectfully as a local religious account; it is not a medical claim about women or menstruation.
